As a child, I always loved to draw. What started out as scribbling crayon on my parent's walls manifested into a passion that I never imagined would develop into what it is today. And that passion led me to major in graphic design at the University of Minnesota, Twin Cities.
I love being creative. Whether it's with art, picking an outfit for the day, or coming up with a new random interpretative dance to my most played music track, I am always looking to grow beyond my current potential. It's that goal that keeps me pushing to think beyond the conventional and to reach beyond the capable.
For me, design isn't just aesthetic. I may be as materialistic as the next person, but in context, I believe it is a disservice to solely think of design as a tool of conventional beauty. Design is memorable, communicates a message and leaves an impressionable mark on those around it. Design should make an impact, and sometimes go against common practice.
With my work, I challenge myself constantly to think outside the box and to go against the status quo. I want my work to reflect my own unique personality. And although I'm still finding my identity in the creative world, I feel that I'm starting to understand just a little more what it means to be a designer.
When I'm not rambling on about design, my interests include fashion, shopping, reality television, watching basketball, Disney, volleyball, and traveling.
